Forever Bound with Tinsel A Novella in the Bound Series edition by Chloe Stowe Literature Fiction eBooks

In 2010, still bound by the restraints of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Air Force pilot Aaron Chambers must continue to hide his ever-evolving, ever-sizzling love for Dr. John Castle. After surviving a near fatal shooting, Aaron and John are in no mood to bow to DADT idiocy. So, when the annual Christmas Ball at Tyndall Air Force Base arrives, the two men find a way to spend the evening together. However, an unknown threat lurks in the background… one that vows to make his move before the night is through.

I loved this quick Christmas romance. Aaron, an Air Forc pilot, and John, a doctor, are lovers and best friends during DADT. It makes things very difficult for them, when all they want is to be together out in the open. My only complaints are the cover looks more like two college nerds than a pilot and a doctor. Also, an epilogue would have been nice, since DADT was repealed in September 2011, less than a year after the time of the book, it would've been nice to hear about their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy.Product details

Forever Bound with Tinsel A Novella in the Bound Series edition by Chloe Stowe Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
So, the reason I persisted with this tale is that I got it as an ARC via NetGalley and I have a policy of always reading those books and providing a review and feedback to the publisher. Had I bought this, it would have been a DNF at around 10% and I'd have returned it for a refund.
The reasons for which I didn't enjoy this tale is that it promised a lot via the blurb, but didn't deliver at all. OK, I got that the tale was taking place during DADT, but would you really have a couple orchestrate things that one takes a woman to the do they're both going to, and yet they sneak off for a (not hot) quickie, where apparently a senior male staff member peeps at them? And, for said senior male staff member to allegedly try to carry out a sexual assault on one?
Most annoying, though, was the author's overuse of calling on guy, 'the colonel/the soldier/the pilot' interchangeably, and the other. 'the surgeon/the doctor' interchangeably and pretty much never calling them by their names.
At the end of the book, I found myself annoyed that I'd wasted precious reading time on this and that the book had over-promised and utterly under-delivered.
