I love, love this book series about a Renaissance Faire. This is set up year round, and people live in the village. This is the first anniversary of Jessie and Chase, and they have made plans to get away. All is going well until one of the fairies, Apple Blossom is murdered. Fearing this will mean a change in their plans, Jessie wishes that Chase was never the Bailiff of the village. Beware! Her fairy godmother hears the wish and all the sudden, things have changed. Jessie and Chase are no longer married, and Chase is back to jousting and being the boyfriend of the Princess. To correct the problem, Jessie has to find a way to get Chase interested in being Bailiff again, solve the mystery and get Chase to love her again. No problem, right? Always fun. I love this series! But I still prefer them in book form. I'm just old fashioned that way!
I wish they hadn't passed away. The series is fun.
Very disappointed in the direction this series has taken. The village and its characters were interesting and fun enough, why have the authors added ghosts and magic. Please return this series back to what it use to be.
Joyce and Jim Lavene are back with book number 8 in their Renaissance Faire series. Newlyweds, Lady Jessie and Village Bailiff Chase Manhattan, are back in the Renaissance Village but with a twist. Still waiting for time to be able to enjoy a honeymoon it seems like they will never get that chance. On top of wanting to have time for their honeymoon, what else could Jessie have to deal with but Fairy Week at the Faire. Jessie has a real detest for fairies but knows they bring business to the Village. Waking from her slumber and thoughts of honeymoon plans, Lady Jessie realizes something is not the same but doesn’t realize this difference involves a fairy godmother, time travel and wishes. Definitely as well done as the previous books in this series I am sure all who read it will enjoy it.
Team Lavene had given us another great book, and managed to challenge our views of characters from previous books. Pizza!
Good but maybe a little too much into the magic world... missing some of the "craft" that brought this series to life.
